Eligibility

Eligibility: Current Hanen membership and certification in at least one of the following workshops: It Takes Two to Talk®, Learning Language and Loving It™ or More Than Words®.

Technical Requirements

Platform: Zoom
Hardware: You will need your own personal device for use throughout the workshop. You will not be able to share your device as only one participant can attend per device.
System Requirements:
  • a computer – one of: desktop/laptop/tablet (you may not attend on a smartphone)
  • the Zoom application installed onto your device
  • reliable internet connection (wired if possible)
  • webcam/microphone/speakers
  • two screens are recommended – one to attend the online class and the other to view session handouts.*
  • *You also have the option to print out the handouts
Important: Please ensure that you have all the items above before you register. If you register and then find that you cannot meet these requirements (with the exception of the second screen), you will not be permitted to attend the workshop. There are no refunds.

Attendance Requirements:This workshop certifies participants to lead ABC and Beyond™ – The Hanen Program® for Building Emergent Literacy in Early Childhood Settings. Participants also receive a license to lead the program.

Full attendance is required. This means completing the Pre-Workshop Assignment and attending all group sessions in full. No recordings will be available of the live sessions.

Absences will not be approved.
Please only register for a workshop for which you can attend all live group sessions in full. Please note that if you fail to meet the attendance requirements, you will not receive a license to offer the program or a Certificate of Completion. There are no refunds.
Required workshop material:You will need access to the ABC and Beyond guidebook (Weitzman & Greenberg, 2010), as well as to a recommended children's book, in order to attend this training. Details will be provided following registration. Please wait for instruction from The Hanen Centre before purchasing these items.
Professional development: This workshop is offered for 1.40 ASHA CEUs (Advanced Level, Professional Area) or 14.0 professional development hours. CEUs will not be provided for partial attendance.

Instructor personnel disclosure statement: Clare Ledger, B. App. Sci. (Sp. Path.), is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who has worked with young children and their families for 35 years in Australia. Currently, Clare uses Hanen resources in day-to-day coaching and capacity building of educators in Early Learning Centres and also offers Learning Language and Loving It™, ABC and Beyond™ and Teacher Talk™ programs to teachers and educators in Early Learning Centres. Financial: Clare is contracted by The Hanen Centre to lead ABC and Beyond™ workshops. Non-financial: No other relevant non-financial relationships exist.

Terms & conditions

Translation policy Hanen resources are protected by international copyright law. No translations are permitted without advance written permission from The Hanen Centre.
Language:Due to the fast-paced, highly interactive nature of our workshops, participants must have a high proficiency in English (i.e. they must be able to understand English, respond to questions and contribute comfortably to group discussions, which involves practicing and applying concepts learned during the workshop). All materials will be provided in English.
Cancellations: 100% of the workshop fee will be refunded if written notification of cancellation is received before the start date of the workshop and a substitute can be found. No refunds if a substitute cannot be found.

Please note that we cannot provide refunds for partially attended workshops. However, you have the option of registering for a future workshop for an administrative fee of $279, with the same full attendance requirement. Please note that most advertised workshops are currently full and we cannot take reservations.
