Course Overview
First Steps examines the similarities in the communication profiles of children who are late to talk, and highlights why it can be difficult to determine the presence of a motor speech difficulty.
The e-Seminar reviews the literature’s guidelines for intervening for very young, expressive language delayed children and discusses how Target Word® - The Hanen Program for Parents of Children who are Late Talkers fulfills the recommended criteria for initial intervention.
Participants view videotaped examples of children at initial assessment and at program completion to demonstrate how a child's response to the intervention guides clinical decision-making regarding next steps.
