Hanen Training: Best Practice for Working with Families

The Hanen Centre is offering new SLP graduates the chance to apply for a subsidy toward the registration fee of the It Takes Two to Talk® certification workshop!*

Over 20,000 speech-language pathologists worldwide have attended the outstanding It Takes Two to Talk workshop, gaining a strong foundation in family-focused early language intervention and its application to everyday clinical work.  Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the evidence-based It Takes Two to Talk Program so you can enhance your work with families of young children with language delays.

The three day It Takes Two to Talk workshop gives you the knowledge to help parents use responsive interaction strategies with their children, thereby creating a language learning environment which provides ongoing intervention.

Learn to:

• Use adult education principles to help parents better understand their child’s stage of communication development, set realistic communication goals, and enhance responsiveness to their children’s communicative attempts
• Use coaching and video feedback to help parents modify interactive behaviour and apply strategies over multiple contexts
• Educate parents in groups so they benefit from the support of others in similar situations
