Hanen Programs

Host a Workshop and Bring Hanen to Your Community!

Why host a Hanen workshop?

Bring this outstanding workshop to your community and train SLPs in best practice regarding involving parents/teachers in the child’s early language intervention. There are many benefits to hosting including:

  • No travel costs: Bring Hanen workshops to your community so you don’t need to incur costs for travel, accommodations and meals if you attend in another location
  • Networking: Meet like-minded colleagues in your community and establish a support network
  • Staff training: Agencies involved in early language intervention or early childhood education can train their speech-language pathologists to use the Hanen approach, facilitating adherence to IDEA

Who Hosts Hanen Workshops?

Hanen workshops are hosted by individuals or organizations. Workshops can be either hosted by you, in which case you collect registration fees, or co-hosted with The Hanen Centre, where we collect registration fees and do much of the organization, while you provide a location and on-site coordination. Both models include detailed instructions and ongoing support from Hanen’s workshop staff.

How does Hanen provide support to Hosts?

Our step-by-step, tried and true Workshop Checklists help Hosts organize the event as they go along. In addition, a dedicated Workshop Coordinator works closely with Hosts from the moment a date is proposed right to the end of the workshop.

What are the host’s responsibilities?

Hosts select or approve dates for the workshop, book the venue and arrange A/V equipment and refreshments, as well as providing on-site support during the workshop. If hosts collect registration fees, then they field inquiries and send out workshop materials.

How is a workshop promoted?

In addition to the promotion that the Host undertakes, The Hanen Centre promotes workshops through our website, brochures, direct mail, print advertising and at conferences.
