- Utilize principles of adult education to provide parents with the training, information and support they need to become their child’s primary language facilitator
- Plan and lead interactive, learner-centred group sessions for parents
- Provide coaching and effective feedback during one-to-one video feedback consultations with parents
- Apply Hanen strategies and principles in general clinical practice with children and their parents
Workshop Format
Throughout the workshop, speech language pathologists participate in experiential, hands-on activities as the Instructor guides them through the content and process of leading an It Takes Two to Talk Program. Discussions about how to incorporate the It Takes Two to Talk principles into the context of daily practice are incorporated throughout. Principles of adult learning and family-centered practice are discussed as an integral part of the program and approach to parent training.
