About This Workshop
I’m Ready! is an advanced online training for current Hanen members. This workshop enables you to train parents in proven strategies that bring emergent literacy into the home. I’m Ready! is ideal for children who are typically developing, at risk of a language delay, or with a mild language delay.
The I'm Ready! online course runs from the week of November 11, 2019 to the week of January 28, 2020.

About the Instructor
Janice Greenberg, B.Sc., D.S.P., Reg. CASLPO, is the Director of Early Childhood Education Services at The Hanen Centre. Her responsibilities include leading Learning Language and Loving It™, ABC and Beyond™ and I’m Ready! workshops and developing resources and materials for use in both workshops and other related trainings. Janice is also co-author of the Learning Language and Loving It, ABC and Beyond and I’m Ready! guidebooks as well as the Leader Guides for these programs.
Technical Requirements
This workshop is offered through a combination of independent study modules and live, online meetings on the Zoom Online Meeting platform with the instructor and fellow registrants. Please carefully review the technical requirements below.
Independent Study Modules
You will need:
- A computer or tablet with:
- A web browser (e.g. an up-to-date version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- PDF reading software (e.g. Adobe Reader)
- Speakers or a Headset
Zoom Online Meetings
- System Requirements:
Please review the system requirements on the Zoom Website and click on the Meeting Test link (using the device you would use to connect during the online workshop) to ensure you will be able to log into and participate in the online meetings (sessions).
- Audio Requirements:
In order to participate in the online meetings, you will need to be able to listen and speak throughout the session. There are 2 options to enable your audio connection:
- VOIP (Internet): To run your audio connection through your internet connection (e.g. FaceTime or Skype), your device needs to be equipped with a microphone and speakers or allow you to connect a headset with microphone.
- Telephone: A telephone call-in option is also available to enable audio in the online meetings (see list of available dial-in numbers on the Zoom website in order to determine if long distance charges will apply).
- Video Requirement:
In order to participate in the online sessions, you will need a webcam.
