two screens are recommended – one to attend the online class and the other for sessions handouts. You also have the option to print out the handouts

This workshop is open to participants around the world. All times indicated above are for Eastern Standard Time (Toronto/New York). Check your time zone here.

The live modules will take place on Zoom with the workshop instructor and other participants.

Mandatory pre-workshop self-study module:
This workshop includes a mandatory Self-Directed Module A that forms the basis of your learning and must be completed prior to the start of the workshop.
Attendance requirements:
This workshop is a licensing workshop which culminates in gaining a license to use the SPARK coaching methodology and the accompanying resources. Full attendance is required. This means attending the full 2.5 hrs of every module and completing the two self-directed modules. Attendance will be tracked during the training. No recordings will be available of the live sessions.

We will not approve absences. You should register for a workshop only if you can attend all modules from beginning to end.

Failure to meet the attendance requirement will result in your license being withheld, with no refund provided.


Please note: Attendance in this workshop requires that you own the It Takes Two to Talk guidebook. This workshop is available at a reduced price to allow participants to purchase their individual copy of the guidebook. By the end of this training, you’ll feel fully equipped to not only address the specific early communication development of young children with language delays, but also to empower parents in one-to-one, face-to-face settings to create the kind of interactions that lay the foundations for communication and language.
Instructor personnel disclosure statement:
Toby Stephan, MA, CCC-SLP, Hanen US Representative, is a speech-language pathologist who has specialized in early language intervention. With over 20 years of experience, he has led numerous Hanen Programs for parents and early childhood educators. He has been a workshop instructor for The Hanen Centre since 2000, providing Hanen training to speech-language pathologists and early intervention professionals. He co-developed and serves as Clinical Director of the SPARK Communication™ workshop.

Translation policy:
Hanen resources are protected by international copyright law. No translations are permitted without advance written permission from The Hanen Centre.
Language:
Due to the fast-paced, highly interactive nature of our workshops, participants must have a high proficiency in English (i.e. they must be able to understand English, respond to questions and contribute comfortably to group discussions, which involves practicing and applying concepts learned during the workshop). All materials will be provided in English.
Cancellations: 
50% of the workshop fee will be refunded if written notification of cancellation is received and a substitute can be found. No refunds if a substitute cannot be found. No refund requests will be accepted after the workshop has already begun.
