Membership for Speech-Language Pathology Graduates
If you’ve recently graduated with a Masters Degree (from US/Canada) or Bachelors Degree (from UK/Australia/New Zealand) or other international equivalent, in Speech-Language Pathology, and you expect to work with young children (birth – 5), a Hanen membership can be an invaluable asset in your career.
Hanen membership currently offers 8000 SLPs around the world a gateway to practical, cutting-edge knowledge and tools for empowering parents and educators to build the social, language and literacy skills of young children. Becoming a Hanen member means you’ll have access to quality professional support and continuous opportunities to build your clinical skills and connect with other professionals around the world.
How do you become a Hanen member?
Speech-language pathologists become Hanen members when they take one of our two Certification workshops – It Takes Two to Talk® or Learning Language and Loving It™. You’ll choose between these workshops based on your own professional needs and interests.
If you plan to work with families of children with language delays….
The It Takes Two to Talk Certification Workshop provides you with the knowledge and tools you need to effectively involve parents in the intervention process in order to help them achieve the best possible language outcomes for their child.
Based on the recognition that parents are adult learners with specific needs, goals, life experiences and knowledge, It Takes Two to Talk equips you with an effective teaching methodology that accommodates all learning styles and ensures that parents are actively engaged in the learning, thereby maximizing their ability to both understand and apply their learning effectively to everyday interactions with their child.
If you plan to consult to educators in early childhood settings…
The Learning Language and Loving It Certification Workshop provides you with an effective framework for empowering educators to promote the social, language, and early literacy skills of all young children (ages 0-5), whether they’re typically developing, have or are at risk for language delays, or are second-language learners. You’ll learn how to help educators learn and apply responsive interaction strategies consistently and across contexts in their day-to-day interactions with children.
After the Workshop
Once you complete either the It Takes Two to Talk or Learning Language and Loving It workshop, you receive a one-year, renewable Hanen membership that’s designed to continuously enrich your career and support your growth as a clinician and Hanen Group Leader.
As a Hanen member, you’ll enjoy the following exclusive benefits:
1. The ability to take advanced Hanen workshops
