Resources for Speech-Language Pathologists

Many speech-language pathologists choose to integrate The Hanen Centre’s user-friendly guidebook and DVD resources into their clinical work with children and their families.

As a supplement to home programming or therapy sessions, or as a helpful tool for parents while they wait for therapy to begin, Hanen guidebooks and DVDs empower parents to extend their child’s learning into every part of the day.

It Takes Two to Talk® was designed specifically for parents of children with language delays. Speech-language pathologists share this resource with parents to show them practical ways to use the everyday activities they do with their child to improve his or her language skills.

Asperger Syndrome

TalkAbility Guidebook

If you work with parents of children with high-functioning autism, including Asperger Syndrome, you may share the TalkAbility™ guidebook with parents to help them build their child's social communication skills. The guidebook explains to parents how they can use the unique interests of their child to encourage empathy, perspective-taking, and attention to the non-verbal cues sent by others.
