Support for Faculty of Speech-Language Pathology Departments: Autism Resources

If you’re a faculty member in a department of speech-language pathology or communication disorders, you may find the More Than Words® guidebook and DVD to be very helpful in exposing your students to a naturalistic approach to working with children on the autism spectrum.

You can demonstrate specific research-based interaction strategies and how these facilitate the child’s social and communication development. Your students will learn a great deal by viewing contrast video examples of parents not applying and then successfully applying the More Than Words strategies by observing the impact on the child.

As required reading and viewing, or simply as a helpful aid to demonstrate the approach you’re teaching, More Than Words resources are an invaluable tool for demonstrating to students how to put naturalistic intervention into practice.
